The College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna was established in 2009 as an affiliated college at Bhawanipatna, Odisha. It is a boys’ and girls’ school that offers agricultural education and undertaking research in the same area. It is affiliated to the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology and provides all Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral level in several fields of Agriculture. The college has only 14 members of faculty and offers post graduate courses in Agricultural Plant Breeding and Genetics, Horticulture, Agronomy, and Soil Science.

The College of Agriculture has varied amenities to Supply the various academic disciplines. The campus also comprises of two hostels for boys and girls respectively with superintendents and assistant superintendents. In terms of accommodation, students are offered adequate accommodation at Manikeswari Ladies Hostel and Bhawani Shankar Gents Hostel, where the messing is conducted with great order by the student leaders, with the assistants from the staff. SC-Hostels offers one and two-three bedded rooms for each student, and both hostels are secured with security guards who work around the clock to protect students. Any college should have a covered library, which may contain a great number of educational literature for students. To support the health and recreation physical development sporting complex is conducted within the school. It also has state of the art computer systems and well endowed laboratories for practical lessons and research within diverse areas of agricultural disciplines.

The College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna provides 50 courses. These comprise 14 B.Sc programmes, 13 M.Sc programmes and 13 Ph. D programmes with different but related specialisation in agricultural sciences. These full time courses offered fall under a broad field of specialisation in agriculture such as Agricultural Plant Breeding and Genetics, Pomology and Horticulture, Agriculture Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agricultural Finance, Production, and Agro-Industrial Biotechnology. The period of these programmes differs; B.Sc courses take 4 years, M.Sc 2 years and Ph.D, 6 years.
