The College of Agriculture Chiplima was established in 1981 as an affiliated college located in Sambalpur Odisha. This is a mixed institution recognised by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) in the provision of education in the field of agriculture. Situated at AT/Po. Chiplima, Sambalpur the college, is owned by the state government of the region. At present, the institute has a faculty of 13 members which imparts specialised education in agricultural sciences. The College of Agriculture, Chiplima, focuses on providing a single, comprehensive programme, any of which B.Sc. Agriculture, which in fact is the backbone of all the academic programs offered in the institution.
College of Agriculture Chiplima has a variety of installations aimed at improving the learning environment of students. The library forms an important information center as far as vast agricultural literature and related information are concerned. Furthering actual training, the institute has adequate, departmental-based laboratories whereby learners harness literature concepts with practical situations. On the same note, a guest house/waiting room has also been provided to the visiting faculty students ‘family members of the institute to demonstrate the hospitality of the institute.
With regards to the programs of study College of Agriculture, Chiplima has a well-defined academic tunnel with the sole flagship course in B.Sc. Agriculture. They take four years to complete and offer the participants a broad basis in the agricultural sciences. The college preserves an approved capacity of 48 for this programme, making it possible to prorise on quality and proper ratio of students to tutors. Such focus doggedly enables the institute to utilise all its capacity to provide good learning in the field of agriculture.
Admission to the B.Sc Agriculture of the College of Agriculture, Chiplima is followed after a process of screening where the college selects intelligent and passionate students wishing to make a career in agriculture.
