The College of Agriculture, Shimoga, which commenced in 1990, is one of the constituent colleges situated in Shimoga of Karnataka state. Located on a vast piece of land of 195 acres, this institution focuses on the development of agriculture diploma. The offered credit programmes integrate the total of 12 courses including the undergraduate, postgraduate, and at doctoral level full time programmes. The admission capacity of the institute ranges from 12 students per year in its flagship programme B.Sc in Agriculture. The various M.Sc programmes offered at the college at the postgraduate level are: Agronomy, Agricultural Entomology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology and Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry; each provides an intake of six students. Both the programmes have the same focus areas of specialisation and have 2 students intake for each. This rich selection of courses enables students to gain a profound insight into the subject areas of the agricultural sciences of interest to them.
The College of Agriculture, Shimoga has the privilege of offering admissions based on merit list and has a admission committee. In the case of postgraduate and doctoral slots, the committee draws up a list of suitably qualified candidates in view of the laid down qualifications. This list is then forwarded to the University for action as all other official lists are taken. The Registrar informs and reports the outcome of the decision made by the students after they have been approved.

For admission in Bsc agriculture student has to secure at least 60% marks in intermediate level or 12th standard examination.
He/ She has to pass the intermediate or 12th std examination with physics ,chemistry ,biology that is PCB combination.
