College of Applied Science, Vazhakkad this is an affiliated college of Calicut University was established in the year 2005 and is located at Vazhakkad, the heart of Malappuram district of Kerala. This college is committed to the pursuit of excellence in the area of education in the sciences and commerce. Sitting at Vazhakkad the college provides academic ambience required for focused academic environment and learning. In total, CAS Vazhakkad has 334 students, which allows the institution to provide students with personal learning environment. 

The college has well equipped learning amenities in order to support the students needs and improve their learning processes. The Electronics lab is the most unique of all that provide actual exposure to the students in the field of Analogue and Digital Circuitry designing, Communication, Instrumentation and Control, Embedded systems and VLSI Technologies. These labs are frequently revised to accommodate the latest technological improvements. The college library which has a rich collection of textbook, references, classics Malayalam/English, scientific journal, career guidance materials lie in the college library. To the technically inclined learners, a digital repository of DVDs CDs and audiobooks augments the conventional learning textual materials. There is also health in the college as it offers sports amenities for each student to enhance their academic performance through exercises and game.

There are a total of four full-time undergraduate courses available in CAS Vazhakkad and all of them lasts for three years. For all programmes combined, the college has an undergraduate and postgraduate student intake of 112. The seats are distributed as follows B.Com Computer Application-40, B.Sc Electronics-36 B.Sc Computer Science-36. These courses enable the students to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge as well as necessary practical experience needed for successful careers in the chosen areas.

Admissions to CAS Vazhakkad are based on the students’ performance, giving deserving candidates a chance at education they deserve. Ranking is prepared by the college using the academic score of the candidates for every course.
