College of Applied Sciences, Kundara: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The College of Applied Sciences, Kundara or, as often people call it, CAS Kundara was launched in 2008. It is affiliated college in Kundara, Kerala which provides wide spread subjects in under graduate as well as post graduate courses. CAS Kundara occupies a small area of 1.77 acre of land and has a total enrollment of students 387 and faculties are 22 in number. Here in this college, 8 complementary courses are offered under five degree programmes which include Computer Science, Electronics, Commerce, and Business Administration. CAS Kundara is an institution that is focused on providing Applied Sciences and Technology and this makes the institute prepare students for the current job market.

To supplement the education of the students, CAS Kundara provides these praying facilities. The college library is a storehouse of information that possesses a constantly expanding stock of books and periodicals; about one thousand new items are accessioned each year. It also contains electronic journals and online databases for the benefit of students as well as the academic achievement of faculties. The electronic laboratory is well equipped such that practical are carried out in essential areas like Basic Electronics, Circuit Design and Communication Systems. For IT education the college has a well equipped and well furnished computer lab with almost one hundred number of terminals with networking facilities so as to equip the students with technologies. And other amenities such as sports facilities, canteen, and hospitality with first aid services through a resident health center makes it a totality of the students’ wholesome development.

Out of all these courses, the institute teaches a total of 7 courses, postgraduate and undergraduate. Every course offered in these programmes is a full-time, regular model of education aimed at developing the complete outlook of a learner into his area of specialisation. The Courses are B.Sc Computer Science, Electronics, M.Sc Computer Science, B.Com with specialisation. The total student intake across all courses is 387, which shows the college’s desire to have the best student faculty ratio. The college provides overall graduation data of the previous year and to ascertain the data of the latest year, one needs to visit the college office; however, the college’s primary emphasis on the practical and vocational skills tries to develop students to meet the competitive world and become successful professionals after the completion of the course.

University of Kerala laid down norms of admitting the students in the CAS Kundara and they implemented the same. Therefore, 50% of the total number of seats available for undergraduate programmes as well as all of the reserved quota seats are provided through CAP justified by the university. Out of the above configuration the remaining seats are directly admitted by the college concerned. However potential students should be informed that a detailed prospectus is produced once a year and contains precise details of the admission process and courses’ requirements. 

Though the college does not recommend particular entrance examinations, grade and assessment tests might include academic performance and university requirements.
