The College of Basic Science and Humanities is one of the few affiliated constituent college of the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology official located at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This centre of learning was founded in 1964 and for almost six decades has offered education in the basic sciences. NAAC accredited the college and that reflects the college’s commitment in providing quality education to the learners. The college promote physical fitness and health by providing the following sporting amenities; A gymnasium hall fully equipped with exercise equipment, badminton hall and table tennis hall, Astro-turf for sporting activities and many more. It also has a health center in the main campus offering OPD regular, pathology, laboratory and ambulance round the clock, for the benefits of students and staff.

College of Basic Science and Humanities has an overall academic programme spread of 21 courses. Among them, eighty-eight are offered at the undergraduate level and completed in full-time programmes, seventy-seven in postgraduate programmes, and sixty-six in doctoral programmes. B.Sc. Honours programmes are available in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, and Zoology, while self-financed programs are also available in the Biotechnology, Computer Science, Microbiology Streams. At the Post graduate level, M.Sc Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology & Biotechnology The above mentioned courses are Self Financed. For the students interested in higher level research Carrier oriented courses are M.Sc. (Physic, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Microbiology), Ph.D. programmes are available.
