The Indore College of Dental sciences and Hospital popularly referred to as CDS, is esteemed and acknowledged dental teaching institution that was founded in the year 1999. The Madhya Pradesh based co-educational institute is set in an area of 7.7 acres in Indore. CDS is an affiliated college of DCI which focuses on offering specialized course that are in dental field. The college currently has a student capacity of 332 and faculty of 81 making it a perfect society for the development of dental personnel. CDS provides 4 courses in 2 degrees which focuses in different area of dentistry such as a degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Surgery.
The College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Indore has got all the latest amenities that would help the students as well as meet their overall requirements. The campus has different hostels for boys and girls this to enable out-station students to have a comfortable stay. A health center is present with first aid items for treatment of ailments among the learners; all the students are provided with health rebates. CDS has only one undergraduate programme but provides three unique postgraduate specialisations in Dental Education. The premier course for dental studies is the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme, which has 60 seats. At the postgraduate level, the college provides Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programmes in three specialised areas: The 9 seats are divided into 3 specialisations: Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics; each of them receiving 3 students. All the courses mentioned above are full course and come with full time mastery of specific dental specialties. Total student intake from all programmes is 69 which show that the organization aims at keeping small class size in order to ensure quality delivery of programmes.
The admission is done strictly on merit basis and follows the same protocol all the time at the College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Indore. For the BDS program Future admissions are based on NEET UG that is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test to be taken by medical and dental students. Likewise for, the MDS programmes, candidates have to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS). Degree wise Admission Process
BDS: College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Indore has an approved intake of 60 seats in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course. Admission to the BDS course is through the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Candidates need to clear NEET-UG and undergo the following counseling process to get admitted.
MDS: There are three Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programmes of 3 seats each offered by CDS:
1. MDS Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge
2. MDS Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
3. MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
The candidate gets enrolled in the aforementioned MDS programmes depending on their performance in NEET MDS. The candidate must have successfully completed their BDS degree and must have cleared the NEET MDS exam.
