The College of Food Technology, Thumburmuzhy, affiliated to the Kerala Agricultural University and was established in 2015 is a constituent college at Chalakudy in Thrissur district of Kerala. This school is co-educational and provides food technology that is relevant and demand by the ever expanding food industry. The college is affiliated to Kerala Veterinary and Animal sciences University launching quality education in the speciality of food technology. Located at the centre of a vibrant food production region and specifically established for this purpose, the College of Food Technology, Thumburmuzhy intends to turn out highly skilled graduates to address the food industry challenges.
College of Food Technology, Thumburmuzhy possess many amenities for the learners as depicted next. The campus has a library to ensure the students have a range of academic resources and references which the would need for the course in food technology. Any candidate who wants physical exercise can engage in the use of sports facilities that are provided thus ensuring balanced education is taken. The college also contains well equipped laboratories, which are very important for practical preparations and in gaining experience in the zoo-technical, microbiological and food technological fields. Further, the institution boasts of good information technology where the students are enlightened on modern equipment and up to current technological requirements.
The College of Food Technology, Thumburmuzhy currently offers one full-time course: B.Tech in Food Technology. Conducted over 4 years for under graduation, this programme focuses on food processing and preservation, along with the quality matters. Currently, the course has an approved intake capacity of 20 places so as to create a capacity to facilitate a one on one tutorial style teaching with each and every learner enrolled in the course. This limited intake also offers a good student faculty ratio which enhances a healthy learning environment and skill experience.
Like any other course in any college, the College of Food Technology, Thumburmuzhy also offers the course, B.Tech Food Technology course which is taken based on merit. The Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical Examination (KEAM) is, therefore, administered by the Government of Kerala for this purpose. For this reason, this common entrance examination assure a controlled and fair selection test for future food science and technology students. It is thereby imperative for any candidate wishing to join this college to sit for KEAM and get a good scores in order to be admitted.

It have basic infrastructure equipment facilities but permanent faculties are less in number .good atmosphere for sports.All the infrastructure and facilities available are maintained well . Living places are clean
