The College of Forestry, Vellanikkara was established in 1986 as a constituent college of this university is located at Thrissur, Kerala. ICAR affiliated and co-educational, this institute provides a wide spectrum of courses in the field of forestry. The college occupies a spacious campus of about 25 acres and totals 2938 learners of which 74% are female learners and 26% are male learners. It is staffed with truly twenty five well dedicated faculty members and provides 11 specialized courses at three degrees of Bachelors, Masters and Doctorates in different forestry disciplines.
Forestry is determined to furnish students with modern facilities to meet their college needs in the course of their study. The campus has adequate laboratory facilities for biochemical related work, silviculture, agroforestry, biotechnology, etc. Under this banner student has got Computer facility with full time internet connection, Library with more than 6500 titles of forestry, fully air conditioned Seminar / Conference hall. For over all health and physical fitness, the college has a 12 station body builder’s multi-gym, basketball court and arrangements for games like table tennis etc. Boy and girl students are provided for separately with girl hostels within the compound and a separate hostel for post-graduate female students within the compound.
The institution provides all over educational programs in courses associated with forestry to cover all aspects of the subject. College currently offers one bachelor’s program – B.Sc Forestry Hons, five master’s degrees – M.Sc Silviculture and Agroforestry, Forest Biology and Tree Improvement, Wildlife Sciences, Forest Products and Utilization and Forest Resources Management, and five doctorate programs in the respective fields. All courses are full time which make study intensive and focused in the respective fields of discipline. Combined total intake of students is 166, the college has ensured a small student intake per faculty for effective quality teaching.
The admission procedure of the students in the college of Forestry Vellanikkara is aimed at identifying talents in the of forestry. No specific exam schedules are given but the college may use appropriate entrance examinations for its programs of study. The institution shows willingness on the side of financial commitment to its students, 1,048 undergraduate and 61 post graduate students were reimbursed in the academic year 2022. That commitment to student support, coupled with the college’s mission to prepare students for careers in the field of forestry in particular, will hold great appeal for those students.

In order to get admission in M.Sc Forestry course, either you need to give an entrance exam or through merit basis, which depend on colleges.
If you give an entrance exam, you have to register, fill an application form, submit all required documents and pay an application fee. Prepare for the examination based on previous years papers.
For merit based selection, you need to submit an application form to your interested college. Moreover, you need to have a good score in Bachelor’s degree exams. According to cutoff lists, you should check your eligibility and submit all required documents.
You need to pass at least 50 percent marks in Bachelor’s degree.
Course fee is INR 16000 to 150000.

Yes you have to give entrance exam to get admission into Post Graduation Course in College of Forestry, Vellanikkara - Kerala Agriculture University. You can go through Post Graduation entrance exams of KEAM or NEET. You should also have minimum 50% aggregate in Undergraduation.

For admission in this college, the entrance tests are, KEAM and NEET. The duration of this course is 4 years. The cut off marks is varies from college to college. NEET has not been conducted yet due to this pandemic.
