The College of Pharmaceutical Science, Puri was established in 1986 is an Affiliated College situated in Odisha, India. This institution has been producing pharmaceutical professionals for more than 30 years and is located at Puri-Konark Marine Drive Road. The college is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for maintaining the quality standards of education in the pharmacy. The college occupies a total area of 2.72 acres and has a total capacity of students’ intake of 377 with having a faculty of 28 members. The institute provides several pharmaceutical courses which are at three levels of totaling, the Bachelor, Masters and Diploma levels, and course specialisation is in several pharmaceutical sub disciplines.
The college of pharmaceutical science, puri includes all important infrastructural and non infrastructural facilities for the students’ complete academic and other necessities. The campus’ hostels are available for boys and girls with adequate room facilities for comfortable living and the necessary mess facilities. In the college currently we have a knowledge centre in the form of a library housing more than 4000 books the college also has complete set of pharmaceutical encyclopaedas and Marcel Dekker series. The facility of subscription to twenty national and international journals facilitates students and faculties a lot.
The institution also keeps laboratories for different branches of pharmacy like Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Microbiology. For technology based learning, a computer unit equipped with internet connected systems and software relevant to the course are fitted. In short, the college ensures students’ well-being by offering facililties in sports, and undertaking sports and culturals annually. Other facilities are a canteen, transport, A.C; class rooms, an auditorium for occasions such as events and seminars, and a health facility with a first aid section.
College of Pharmaceutical Science situated at Puri has a total of five courses in different phase of pharmaceutical courses. These are full time programs done to the end user at undergraduate level, postgraduate level and diploma level. For the post graduate admissions, the college accepts scores from the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT). Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: The College of Pharmaceutical Science, Puri, has an approved strength of 100 students in the B.Pharma course. Admission to this four-year undergraduate degree is carried out through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). Candidates qualifying in the OJEE are eligible for admission on the basis of their marks in the entrance examination.
M.Pharma: There are three M.Pharma specializations provided by the college, namely Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Analysis. Each specialization carries a particular intake capacity: M.Pharma Pharmaceutics (15 seats), M.Pharma Pharmacology (12 seats), and M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Analysis (15 seats). All the M.Pharma courses are accepted mainly through Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT) organized by OJEE. The college also accepts scores of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) for postgraduate admission.
D.Pharma: College of Pharmaceutical Science, Puri, also conducts a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) course with approved intake of 60 students. Although no particular admission information about D.Pharma is given, it is presumed that the admission procedure is conducted according to state-level norms for diploma courses in pharmacy.
