The College of Poultry Production and Management Hosur was inaugurated in the year 2012 it is specialised in poultry science and technology. Situated in Hosur, Tamil Nadu this constituent college is recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Located over an 80-acre land, the college has currently a total of 117 students enrolled in the college with 55% are male and 45% are female. Two specialisations in poultry technology are offered at undergraduate and postgraduate levels of the institute with the help of a faculty of 13 members. Due to its well defined programme and equipped facilities, the college intends to supply trained experts in the sphere of poultry.

The College of Poultry Production and Management and has equipped itself with a number of facilities that are up to date in supporting the line of instruction. The library being one of the core centres for academic materials stocked more than 1500 books and has subscribed for eleven journals science and technology, basic sciences, poultry science, engineering and technology fields. It offers a superb environment for students and other staff to get all the necessary and relevant instructional resources. Currently, the laboratories in the college are adequately stocked in order to support practical teaching and research. 

One notable feature is the functional poultry farm consisting of hatchery unit and breeder and commercial poultry units, poultry processing laboratory, feed mill unit and feed testing laboratory. These facilities provide students with useful practical experiences which enable them to gain practical experience. The campus also houses highly maintained and fabulous hostels for boys and girls with basic facilities like hot water, RO system water, indoor gym and wash. Other infrastructural services includes having computer-labs, sporting installations, an assembly hall for occasions, such as events, seminars among others, having a health centre for first aid as well as a modern student’s gym.

In terms of academic offerings, the College of Poultry Production and Management provides two full-time courses: of 4-year B.Tech in Poultry Technology and 2-year M.Tech in Poultry Technology. On the B.Tech programme, 60 students are admitted, and for M.Tech programme, 3 students are enrolled every year. 

Admission into the college is aimed at ensuring recruiting candidates who have greater passion and suitability to learn poultry science and technology. Concerning the admission requirements and process several details are not elaborated but it can probably include satisfactory performance in certain subjects and perhaps the writing of college entrance examination as well as/ or interviews.
