College of Teacher Education, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

CTE, one of the constituent college of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, was founded in the year 2014 at Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This is a co-educational institution that has a mission of producing Quality educators through the award of a B.ED programme that is recognised by the NCTE. Located in a premises of four acre in Gachibowli, presently the college is having an intake of 73 students and 8 faculties. Being a distinctive institution aimed at the preparation of teachers, it has a significant responsibility of preparing future generation of teachers.

It has various facilities that are intended to support the academic achievement of student, learning facilities of the college. It must be authoritative, adequate as well as an all-in-one source of practical tools and information for prospective teachers. The campus comprises of sporting facilities that promotes physical activities and group harmony among students. The training contingents comprise specialised laboratories that satisfy the practicum requirements of teacher education, coupled with an IT support system that identifies students with current educational technologies. To enhance student’s wellbeing the college also boasts of a health center that provides first aid treatments. Other facilities are an auditorium for functions and seminars; guest houses for members of the faculty and visiting persons; and car park for the college members.

As for courses in academics, only the College of Teacher Education offers its main programme which is the B.Ed. This programme is a two-year full-time course that has been approved to admit one hundred students which has show the institution’s willingness to continue giving quality education with small cohort sizes to maintain. With respect to students capable of completing a Bachelors in Education the programme aims at providing students with the knowledge and skills of the job market. Although the college presently has only one degree programme this is of great advantage because through its specialty, it can provide both depth and breadth in training teachers.

The admission to B.Ed programme in the College of Teacher Education is strictly on merit depending on the marks scored in the qualifying exam and/ or entrance exam. The college has formulated its admission policies and procedures in consultation with the state government, Union Territory, administration and the University.
