One of the reputed institutions in the field of veterinary education and research was established in the year 1972- The College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Parbhani. Located in Parbhani, Maharashtra, the college is a constituent unit approved by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research. This COVAS, Parbhani sprawls over a sprawling campus of 197.684 acres and offers diverse programs in veterinary sciences. The institute has a total student enrolment of 429 with a faculty strength of 47, making the student-teacher ratio very conducive. The girls, in particular, are provided newly constructed girl's hostel within the campus that accommodates 124 students pursuing B.V.Sc. & A.H. and M.V.Sc. programmes. It offers a vast range of courses, from 1 undergraduate program and 19 postgraduate programs to 2 doctoral programs. The flagship programme is the 5-year B.V.Sc Animal Husbandry course with an intake of 64 students. At the postgraduate level, M.V.Sc. degrees are available in subjects such as Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology, and Animal Biotechnology. Ph.D. programmes are available in subjects like Veterinary Anatomy and Histology and Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology.
