The Combined PG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Dehradun was established in the year 2002. Today, it has come out to be one of the premier health education hubs in Uttarakhand, India. This affiliated college is probably the only recognized institute under the Indian Nursing Council, offering a variety of medical, allied health science, and other programs. The Institute spreads over an extensive area of 3.70 acres and has come up to be a very significant center for the entire region. This institute has a strength of 22 faculty members who provide quality education in 19 courses at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels through its 8 degree programs, across various specializations within the health sector.

To supplement its academic mission, the college is aided by a number of state-of-the-art facilities.  It has well-equipped laboratories for students to engage in practical learning experiences that are a must in medical training. The campus has separate accommodation for boys and girls, thereby allowing outstation students to stay comfortably on the campus premise. A well-stocked and broad library shall act as a knowledge center and provide adequate medical literature and research materials. It has taken care of the health and well-being of students through the on-campus medical facility, which provides first-aid service and basic healthcare facilities. Sports facilities are available on the campus for the students' all-round development through physical fitness and sports. Sufficient parking is taken care of by the institute for faculty, staff, and students.

The Combined PG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research offers a wide range of courses that consisting both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the institute. The curriculum of the institute provides for full-time courses in a wide variety of medical and allied health disciplines. Few of the unique courses available here include B.Sc Nursing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT), and Master of Public Health (MPH) among others. It also offers special courses in ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) and GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) in order to meet the ever-growing demand for expert nursing professionals.
