The Council of Analytical Tribal Studies, Koraput (COATS) is an analytical institution of higher learning for the study of tribes-category institution was established in the year 1993. Situated in Koraput Odisha , this affiliated college occupies a small area of 2.06 acres and has a faculty that offers a focused academic for those students who are interested to study about the tribal cultures. COATS offers two postgraduate research programmes: The two fully residential courses are Ph.D. and M.Phil in Tribal Studies each of two-year duration. Aimed at the completion of tribal research based projects, the institute employs a faculty of only three members in order to be able to give the scholars appropriate attention and direction.
