CSI Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science for women, Coimbatore, start its journey in the academic year 1995-96 as an Affiliated college situated in the heart of Coimbatore city of Tamil Nadu. Located on a 4 acre campus, the institution is delivering 36 courses pertaining to 13 degree programmes. The student population of the college is 1407 and number of faculty members is 110 and therefore, the college has good strength of teachers as compared to the students. It is recognised by the seventy National Assessment and Accreditation Council and also is affiliated to the All India Council for Technical Education.

The college has state of the art facilities that can enable the student meet his or her academic and personal needs. The concept of separate hostel for boys and girls, facilitated living condition, basic necessities and hygienic food at a reasonable price is maintained in the campus. The library is well furnished with a reprographic which meets the needs of the students in their research and other studies. Labs by departments provide students with practical experiences needed throughout their course of study, and playing fields promote physical fitness and leisure. For large occasions there is an outdoor banquet facility, there is an indoor banquet hall and there is an indoor auditorium for regular use and a seminar hall for departmental use. CSI Bishop Appasamy College follows different procedures for admissions for different courses. For the MCA programme admission is through a centralised test conducted by the management consortium or the TANCET for Tamil Nadu. According to the entry criteria of the college, TANCET scores are also considered for various courses offered in the college.
