D Banumaiahs Polytechnic Mysore was set up in year 1983 and it is an affiliated college located in Mysore Karnataka. It is a diploma awarding institution situated in Bhopal which has been approved by AICTE for imparting its courses in diverse engineering streams. Polytechnic college occupies a small area of 2 acres of land, overall enrolment capacity of 390 students and 36 staff members. The institute offers six diploma courses, though they all fall under one degree programme. Offerings from specialisation include Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Civil, Automobile Engineering that pertain to the technical field of interest.

Possibly the most improvements affecting students’ growth are the learning and teaching facilities that the polytechnic features. It has a vast stock of more than 6,500 technical books of which 2,500 are reference books, and 2% of books are reserved for SC/ST students. There is an organized provision of sporting and games activities for students which includes indoor and outdoor activities supported by Inter-Polytechnic Sports Meets. It has its IT infrastructure with a computer hall of adequate space equipped with forty state of art computers, internet with 2Mbps access. Hygienically designed laboratories specialise in several engineering domains, including a driving practice area in Automobile Engineering for seniors. Special facilities are available in the following: There is an auditorium for conducting events including seminars, a health center to take care of first aid cases, and a canteen which is set aside for the workers and school children.

D. Banumaiahs Polytechnic has a total of six first degree full time diploma courses each of which take three calendar years.
