Affiliated to Gauhati University Damdama College Kamrup was established in year 1978 is located at Kulhati Assam. It has degrees for students who want to pursue their bachelor’s degrees in many areas, with more emphasis placed on arts and humanities. Approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Damdama College currently has 2164 students & 23 faculties. The college offers seven courses in two major disciplines of study which include Assamese, Economics, Education, English, History, political science and Economics. As a college that affirms to quality education, Damdama College therefore needs to meet the academic requirements of students in the Kamrup region. This college has all the facilities that can in one way or the other enhance student’s academic success.
The main library that forms the basic framework of the institution has a stock of 14500 books, 800 journals, magazines, newspapers etc. They exist with a reading room the sitting capacity of which is up to 50 and is open from 9 am to 4 pm. Dougla library is an automated system, and the school facilitates a computer lab for the teachers as well students. More so to those clients who are passionate in the field of athletics, the college continues to foster an active sport activities training in sporting disciplines including;football, kabaddi, volleyball, wrestling and more. The learners have a history of achievement in different occasions within and outside the state.
There are seven course offered in Damdama College all of which are full-time undergraduate courses. The programs offered at the B. A level include Assamese major, Economics major, Education major, English major, History major and Political Science major. The total enrolment of cohorts for all the courses is 2,164 meaning the college has the capacity to enrol learner in large numbers. You may not be able to get the graduation data for the latest year but the college pays sufficient emphasis on imparting quality education in the field of arts and humanities to add value to the education market of the region.
In our admission process at Damdama College, we admission students based on their merit alongside with following the college admission rules and government orders. It starts with a notice that is published by the Principal after the declaration of results of relevant examinations. According to the college, for prospective students, the prospectus and the admission form should be obtained from the college office at a fee. Last, applicants must enclose the completed application form together with certified true copies of the supporting documents and two passport-type photographs with the stated time line. The Admission Committee of the college receives and ratifies the applications. The college also offers several seats for SC/ST/OBC students and for the first time differently-abled students as per government quota. As much as detailed information on scholarships offered are scarce in the college, information on admission policies reveal much on the college’s inclusiveness.
