About DAN College of Education for Women, Nawanshahr

DAN College of Education for Women, Nawanshahr was founded in the year 1955. However, it is one of the affiliated colleges in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Located in a 2  acres of land the college provides the right learning atmosphere for students who want to be teachers. Currently, the institute has 110 students enroled while they have 11 members among faculty and staff; this shows that the institute is personal, and education is of high quality. The college enroled only females, ensuring the program was done with focus on empowering women educators in the region.

Some of the facilities found in campus include a variety of learning that aims at helping the students of the college. The stocked up library acts as a repository of knowledge meeting the requirements of a befitting academic environment. For physical fitness, the college has adequate number of equipment for physical fitness like gymnasium & provision for both indoor and outdoor games such as TT, badminton, cricket, volley ball and basket ball. The adopted IT infrastructure keeps students informed of technological developments in education. 

DAN College of Education for Women has full-time course of only one namely – Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This is a two year programme and the institution has been approved to admit a total of 150 students, which clearly shows that the institution has the capacity of producing this a number of future educators in the shortest time possible. 

The admission procedure followed by the DAN College of Education for Women is the system that offers admission depending on the results of the qualifying exam and / or examination entrance. The admission policy of the college is as directed by the state government, the U.T. Administration, and the university to which the college is affiliated.
