DAV College of Education for Women, Amritsar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

DAV College of Education for Women, Amritsar was started in 1956 and is one of the pioneer institutions for women education in Punjab state of India. Adjacent to Beri Gate, this affiliated college is 2 acres in size and is NAAC recognized. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) the college offers four postgraduate courses in education and computer applications. The college at present has a total student strength of 478 and the faculty strength is 19 therefore it retains its small scale learning system. 

The college has variety of Proctoria that boasts of modern infrastructure that aims at improving learning environment. Organized with up-to-date books, journals, textbooks and the latest research findings, its library possesses approximately 16000 documents. The infrastructure of the institution is evident in its information technology resource with an IT center complete with computers connected to the internet and other teaching-aid technologies such as DVDs, over head projectors among others.

Currently, there are four full time courses offered in DAV College of Education for Women and all are designed on a regular basis to cater the education industry. These programs focus on methods of teaching, psychology of learning, and computer science in order to produce graduates who will be able to fit in teaching profession or related fields aptly.

According to the programme, the admission requirements at DAV College of Education for Women are as follows. The B.Ed programme admission is done according to the government norms of the state to follow the fair procedure of selection. The master in education programme employs a college level test in order to measure the ability and content knowledge of the candidates. In Self Finance admissions for PGDCA, personal interview is conduced at college level that may provide better and classical way of examination for the candidates.
