DAV Degree College for Boys, Budhana, came into existence in 2000 with the approval of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, and it is affiliated to M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. It operates across 9.22 acre land and provides variety of 15 courses under seven degree programmes. Currently, the college has a student population of 1007 and a faculty of 30, thus affording a slender student / teacher ratio. DAV Degree College came into existence with a vision to provide quality education, facilitating its affiliation from the NCTE. The college provides undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in arts, science, and commerce, as well as education, to cover varieties of fields that learners can admire. It has various installations meant to enrich learning and the complete growth of every student in the college.

A most developed library, which forms the life support system of any institution’, has more than fifteen Thousand volumes of books, journals and reference material, which is divided between two different libraries, namely the central library and the B. Ed. Library. Both are computerised, and knowledge is at the fingertips of the users. The college is an IT-aware campus with a developed IT infrastructure of over one hundred computers. To support the theoretical concepts with practical sessions, the institution has provided effective laboratories to the students. Facilities are also its beautiful green football and hockey playing fields accompanied by basketball and badminton grounds as well to support sports and exercise. An auditorium provides for event and seminars and helps in creating a lively campus environment. Additional facilities in the institute include internet connection, canteen, parking area and health care centre with first aid. The DAV Degree College provides all-round facilities of different courses and streams for different students. 

Currently, the institution offers fifteen courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Available for students at the undergraduate level of learning are BA, B.Sc, B.Com, and B.Ed programmes. The postgraduate programme offers Master of Arts (MA) in English, Home Science, Sociology and Political Science and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mathematics, Chemistry Physics, Botany and Zoology. In addition, the college provides Master of Commerce, also known as M.Com. programme. 

All these courses are full-time regular programs which are aimed to deliver detailed understanding with practical experience in the relevant fields. The total approved intake for the BA programme only is 140, while other courses’ intake is unknown. This means that the college has been able to spread its courses and areas of specialist concentration in a bid to ensure that it provides quality education to as many discriminating students as possible. 

DAV Degree College Budhana admission procedure also differs from course to course. Normally, there are standard procedures in admitting students for most courses, which include consideration of the mark obtained in the qualifying examination. But, for the B.Ed. program, the college has its own standard and systematic manner to follow those standards. Admission to B.ED. is offered on merit basis, merit being defined as the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/ or in an entrance test. This follows the laid-down policies of the state government, U.T. administration, and the concerned university.
