DAV Post Graduate College, Varanasi was established in 1938. The college is affiliated with the Uttar Pradesh and has contributed so much in higher education for more than eight decades. The sprawling campus covering 5.55 acres boasts of being a NAAC accredited institution and offering 23 courses under 5 degree programmes. It has an enrolment of 4,164 students and a strength of 64 faculty members. DAV PG College also offers its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in arts, commerce, and social sciences. 

State-of-the-art infrastructure enhances the learning experience of all the students. A total of 40,358 textbooks, 4,413 reference books, with subscription to 35 journals and 434 e-books constitute the core academic resources in the library. In addition to this, an e-library with access through INFLIBNET adds a new dimension to digital learning tools. Sports facilities include cricket, volleyball, badminton, athletics, football, chess, and table tennis. The computer laboratory in the institution is well-equipped to keep students updated with the latest technological change. The Auditorium named Late P.N. Singh Memorial Auditorium, can seat over 500 people and it has turned out to be a lively place for college events and activities. DAV Post Graduate College offers a very wide range of courses catering to different interests in academics. 

The institution offers full-time courses in 23 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes besides doctoral programmes. So, some of the popular courses in undergraduate are BA, BCom, and BA Social Science. PG courses include MCom as well as MA courses in subjects such as English, Philosophy, Hindi, Economics, History, Psychology, Sociology, political science. 

Admission on merit. The entrance scores are accepted from CUET UG for undergrauate coures and CUET PG for postgraduate courses. These entrance exams form a significant part of the selection process of the courses. The institution also awards scholarships to talented and deserving students.
