Infrastructure is nothing compared to any good colleges out there. Have basic facilities like library, smart board and canteen but it serves only basic usage. No wifi is available for students. But college is clean and hygienic.
I was pursuing Bcom from the college. I was from a different field than commerce in my +2 and had barely any idea about colleges so this looked like a good option for me to start with. The college follows curriculum of Utkal University for Bcom and BBA, which is very outdated. One of my teachers used to say we are studying the same things they studied 20 years back with a little variation. It absolutely doesn't make you job ready, you must focus on pursuing other courses along with it.
I would personally not recommend depending on placements unless you want to get into sales jobs. Placements are very basic and pays very little. Highest salary from what I remember was around 3lpa for on campus placement. Mostly students go for higher studies after this, so people sitting for placement are comparatively low.
I would say the faculty are great except one or two. Very polite friendly and encouraging. Was some what on expensive side provided the basic infrastructure and all. But faculty takes extra initiative to conduct various events to improve your soft skills, would highly recommend participation in such events.
Would say I am not the right person to judge since we barely went for 2 semesters in 3 years because of the covid. It was not terrible and at the same time it wasn't that happening either.
If you are planning to pursue Bcom/BBA in Bhubaneswar and only under utkal University this is definitely the best option available, otherwise you can look for better colleges.
College has good infrastructure. Well maintained classrooms and computer lab along with other necessary facilities like seminar hall. Library is maintained and updated as per the requirement of the courses.
Academics is good here, professors are approachable and helpful. Their level of knowledge is also good, and can easily clear doubts. The curriculum is regularly updated and accordingly the teaching pattern also changes.
Placement is not provided to all the students. Very few companies open their forms and students are required to apply in them, that too optional. So placement is not guaranteed, since most of the students opt for higher studies.
It has nothing extravagant in terms of infrastructure and it's also not very widespread in terms of area you don't get anything flashy as of now but yeah it's DAV so they're going to improve sooner or later in that regard
The academics are well balanced and every teacher provides notes and handouts which are very useful for revision and regular mock tests are also conducted to ensure that the students are accustomed to the pressure of dealing with multiple subjects simultaneously
There is a lot of room for growth in terms of the placement opportunities but if you have a good track record and engage in adding to your cv while you are in college you have a good chance to get placed straight away
The experience that this college provides is pretty good for its fees plus many other opportunities are also provided in line of industry visits expert talks seminars and many other things that can account for a good boost in your personality and professional behaviour which is required for corporate world
There are a lot of activities ranging from sports to literary clubs that students can be a part of, the college encourages you to take initiative and puts you out of your comfort zone so you can explore your potential
Not really
The College infrastructure is below average and there is a lot of scope of improvement in the bathroom and canteen area, cleanliness is also a matter of concern here , can improve a lot but I don't know what holds them back
The faculty here are well versed with what they are teaching and preaching!! Academics wise there is no flaw here, there are smart classes here and they are put to optimal utilization every time. it makes the learning experience enjoyable
The placement cell here is average to good, during my time the companies that were hiring were good but the position at which they were looking for candidates to join was not so attractive and well paying
my course costed me .5 Lakhs , but I don't feel I am getting the worth of it.
There are a lot of activities happening out there but since I was from the covid batch , I could not completely experience any such activities.
Air conditioned and smart classes.
DSBM has the charm of being the most preferred college among students and parents and has a place under the top 10 colleges for undergraduate and degree courses after BJB autonomous college, and its infrastructure is the reason, good and hygienic bathroom facilities, smart and Air-conditioned classrooms, soundproof conference halls, mess and, canteen facility available, hostels for boys are available, parking facility available, bigger playgrounds and good campus environment.
DSBM has been able to perform well in academics if you see any Utkal University topper, you will find a DSBM student, all thanks to the faculty members and subject teachers, what they do is that they will provide you with study material which is helped me because I'm the type of student who will study before the night of examination, and trust me, I have been able to secure good marks in my semesters. so yeah it's good in academics
Placement is DSBM is average, in the beginning, they will guarantee you the placement, but throughout the year, they will list out only those students who will perform well in academics and co-curricular activities which I think is biased because every student is either good or bad must get a chance to sit in an interview, I was able to secure the placement in ICICI bank by going through off-campus placement, so I guess its average when we talk about the place
The whole B.com package cost me around 80K per year, so it's 2.4 L for 3 years which can be paid in installments, but it's different for those with hostels so you must check in with that, I think I won't be able to say on this part because I belong to corona batch as yes I have missed my college life for straight 2 years so its better to enroll in govt colleges than to enroll in private institutions because 1.its too costly and 2. it's not worth it because if you don't go to college at all.
The campus is environment-friendly, smoke-free, and pollution-free, the ambiance is good and you can study peacefully in the garden area, the campus has everything that a student can visualize and wants.
Just try to actively participate in every co-curricular activity including sports days, annual functions, and of course all traditional fests and everything, try to name yourself in every competition let it be any quiz competition or can be dance/singing competition, I will say this that if money is not the issue you should join DSBM AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS THAT YOU MUST HAVE FUN AND TRY TO NOT BOTHER ANY TEACHERS.
