DIRD Delhi Admission

Delhi Institute of Rural Development (DIRD) is a college affiliated to the University of Delhi located in Holambi Khurd in the national capital territory of Delhi. Though the institute offers its associate undergraduate program in different disciplines, it is approved by the Bar Council of India. The admission process of DIRD is custom-tailored with the primary aim of selecting deserving aspirants for the several qualified courses like BA LLB (Hons), B.Pharma and D.Pharma.

As a result, the academic calendar is synchronized with that of DIRD. Generally, applications were released in the months ahead of any academic year for the institution. GGS-IP CLAT classifies selection for the course BA LLB (Hons). The other type of admission deals with B.Pharma, which takes handle of the Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET).

Eligibility criteria will depend on the course of choice. To illustrate this, the candidate will have to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the CLAT exam regarding the BA LLB (Hons) program. The eligibility of B.Pharma requires that the candidates have appeared for the IPU CET qualifying examination and meet such conditions set up by the university. Eligibility of candidates for the D.Pharma program will differ with regards to guidelines they should check with the institute.

DIED conducts basically two entrance exams for admissions:

1. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT): For admission into BA LLB (Hons) program
2. Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET): For admission into B.Pharma program

Application Process

Application Procedures at Delhi Institute of Rural Development for various courses differ.

For BA LLB (Hons):

1. Register and appear in the GGS-IP CLAT exam.
2. After the declaration of the results, check if you satisfy DIRD's cutoff criteria.
3. If it qualifies, admission is taken at DIRD according to the prescribed admission channel prepared by the institute.
4. All important documents need to be submitted, including CLAT score card, academic transcripts, and any other documents specified by the institute.
5. Application is required to be made as prescribed by DIRD.
6. Wait for the merit list or admission offer from the institute.
7. Complete admission formality formalities such as fee payment and verification of documents by the institute when selected.

For B.Pharma:

1. Register and appear for the IPU CET exam.
2. After results of IPU CET, participate in the IPU counseling process.
3. During counseling, select DIRD and B.Pharma as the program of choice if you fulfill the cutoff criteria.
4. Report to DIRD for verification of documents in case of allotment of a seat.
5. Submit all documents required including IPU CET score card, academic transcripts, and other certificates as required.
6. Complete the admission with the requisite fee and other institute-specific requirements for completed admission.

It is certain there were no special statements for admissions for the D.Pharma; therefore, the most curious students would have to do the following:

1. Contact admissions office of DIRD or check up their official website for application.
2. Proceed as per guidelines by DIRD to submit the application; filling likely forms, fees, and relevant documents would happen, it seems.
3. Prepare for any institute-specific entrance test or interview, if any are conducted.
4. Wait in patience for the admission decision to proceed towards enrolling steps if selected.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA LLB (Hons): The principal program offered by DIRD is BA LLB (Hons), which admits students based on merit in the GGS-IP CLAT exam. This five-year integrated course is open for 30 enrolled students. Candidates will be required to clear the CLAT exam to satisfy the cutoff criteria defined by the institute.

B.Pharma: Admission into the B.Pharma program at DIRD is also on the passing scores of the applicants in the IPU Common Entrance Test (IPU CET). This program is all about pharmaceutical sciences and is designed to develop students for the pharmaceutical industry. The students must qualify in the IPU CET and then go to the counseling process for admission.

D.Pharma: There is also a diploma in pharmacy offered at DIRD by the name D.Pharma. The precise manner of taking in students for this course has not been discussed so it probably follows its own admission criteria or accepts the current relevant entrance exam. Students interested in admission to the D.Pharma course have been encouraged to contact the institute for confirmation of admission procedure.

Generally expected admission documents include:

  • Entrance examination score card (CLAT for BA LLB and IPU CET for B.Pharma)
  • Class X and XII mark sheets and certificates
  • Transfer certificate from last attended institution
  • Conduct certificate
  • Passport size photographs
  • Caste certificate wherever applicable (SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
  • Domicile certificate where applicable
