The Department of Business Administration (DBA) Mangalore university was started in the year 1981 and situated at Mangalagangotri, Karnataka. Affiliated to University Grants Commission and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved the department offers postgraduate and doctoral studies in business administration. At DBA, the faculty strength is 2; the Institute offers a number of specialised programmes such as MBA, MBA in Tourism and Travel Management and Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration.

For MBA programme the admission norms are largely determined by the scores in the Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
