Department of Chemical Technology is a constituent college of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, engaged in the field of chemical technology was established in the year 1989. Being located in Aurangabad one of the prominent city in Maharashtra this institute has made its own reputation in imparting education in chemical and food technology. It has been recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which makes sure that the standard of a course is up to the mark at a national level. The strong teaching team of the institute includes 10 members who provide a wide selection of specially themed courses of chemical technology, food technology and pharmaceutical engineering for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Department of Chemical Technology enjoys the following modern facilities all purposed towards improving the student learning. The campus also consists of the hostels for boys and girls in order to ensure that students live comfortably while learning. These accomodative structures provide housing alongside cultural nurturing and development among students through greater interactions and shared responsibilities. In the department there are well equipped laboratories, most essential especially in teaching Chemical and Food Technology subjects. The institute also has good IT facilities intact, which provides student’s optimum technological equipment. An overview of developmental facilities include sporting activities; there are sporting amenities for students focusing on developing their talent in sports classes so that they can be able to maintain their- physical form and- team spirit.
The institute has a total of 2 programmes out of which two are undergraduate courses and one is a postgraduate course. These programmes of study are meant to prepare students for professional experience and training in their fields of study . These courses are designed in a manner that clients’ demands are fully addressed in the broad market displacing graduates to their professional tracks.

Admission into the Department of Chemical Technology is on competitive basis whereby the best qualified candidates are selected. For the undergraduate courses, the institute takes the scores of national level entrance exams like Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET). For keen postgraduate aspirants, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) can be taken as the mode of application. These entrance exams help the institute to admit talented students in different parts of the country.
The department also supports an active alumni programme that links the working graduate to the students in the department. This network is also helpful for becoming accustomed with mentors, as well as business networks and placements.
