Department of Computer Science and Engineering is located at NH 64- on Patiala Rajpura Road, the department has been imparting education in computer science since almost two decades. Currently, the department is blessed with a workforce of 38 dedicated faculty in addition to offering a variety of programmes in computer science and engineering. This department is recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) thus offers its programmes in compliance to the policy on technical education in India. Being a mixed institution, it embraces and acknowledges student’s of all gender, thus make learning comprehensive.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering understands the need to provide every student with modern equipment to improve performance results. In addition, the department has rich library facility that consists of good number of books, journal and digital resources for a constructive academic and research study. Students are exposed to clean, up-to-date laboratory furniture and equipment that gives students practical, real-life experience using some state-of-the-art, current technologies and software that may be used in Computer Science. Moreover, the department boast of an awesome IT connectivity for internet services and other computer needs for the Students, computing technologies and applications that are relevant in today’s dynamic world.

The department provides courses for both the undergraduate and postgraduate students throughout the programme.  

The admission process of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is different for different programmes. For the B.Tech programme students get admitted on merit that is on the basis of aggregate percentage of marks in Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following subjects Chemical, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies. This kind of evaluation makes a surety that only student with prior knowledge of the relevant subject areas is selected. For the M.Tech programmes, candidates are offered admissions if they are fulltime students or part time students on the basis of GATE scores.
