Department of Computer Science, Gulbarga University, Gulbarga was started in 1980. The department offers education in the stream of Computer Applications and IT and Sciences. This is co-educational department provides a variety of postgraduate-level courses and research programmes at doctoral levels. The courses include a Master of Computer Applications (MCA), M.Sc. in Computer Science, M.Phil. in Computer Science and Ph.D in Computer Science. The  MCA programme is offered with a seat intake of 45 students and the M.Sc Computer Science programme is available with a seat intake of 40. The M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes are offered for candidates who want to pursue education in the field of computer science.
