The Department of Optoelectronics is an academic wing at the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram which was started in 1995. This Department is based in the colourful city of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and is focused of the promotion of optoelectronics and photonics. It is a constituent college of the University of Kerala and enjoys rich academic inheritance of the parent University. It is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to maintain set standards of technical education in the country. While M.Tech programme takes two-years for completion, it has an approved capacity of 18 students, M.Phil programme also takes two years and has an approved student’s intake capacity of 7 students. The Ph.D. programme like most doctoral programmes takes a period of six years.
