The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar – A Journey of Pharmcuetical Sciences situated in the heart of India was established in 1955. Thus, the Sagar’s based this constituent college of Madhya Pradesh is working hard to transform the future of pharmacy education for more than six decades. The department is recognised by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Pharmacy Council of India, hence offers standard education. The department is staffed by 7 highly committed faculty members and provides 5 courses in two degree programmes in the pharmaceutic sciences. The institute holds some of the best programmes and facilities within the country and this sets the bar even higher for the programme.
For their education, students at the Department have access to a variety of teaching aids that adds on to their education. The college has a well stocked library, this helps the students gain access to a rich volume of research and reference materials which are relevant in their college study. Departmental laboratories make it possible for students to apply what they learn in practical lessons hence realising on-job practice. For the guests and relatives of interns, the institute offers guest and waiting rooms, which allows guests to comfortably accommodate during stays on campus. Further, the college understands that students need every chance of having sound health, therefore, has provided its students with sports facilities in order to help them have sound health, team playing abilities etc.
The Department Of Pharmaceutical Sciences has a total of 5 courses and all the offered courses are full time. These include one undergraduate course namely B.Pharma and four postgraduate courses namely M.Pharma with various disciplines-Pharmaceutics etc. B.Pharma programme has approval for admission of 60 students, whereas M.Pharma programmes offered by the University have a total intake of 50 seats in all the specialisations.
