The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of JIS University, Kolkata has been offering quality pharmaceutical education since its establishment. The departmental admission process is aimed at identifying worthy candidates for its undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses.

For B. Pharma and D. Pharma, the general eligibility is 10+2 with Mathematics/ Biology, Chemistry and Physics as mandatory subjects. For M. Pharma, the candidate should have passed B. Pharma from a recognized institution. Merit-based admission by the department is done based on the academic background of the candidates in the concerned subjects and their pharmacy entrance exam scores.

Application Process

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, JIS University, Kolkata application process comprises of the following steps

1. Open the JIS University website and proceed to the admissions page

2. Choose the program (B. Pharma, D. Pharma, M. Pharma or Ph. D) and read the eligibility criteria and admission requirements of that specific program.

3. Complete the online application form with your educational and personal information. Be cautious while filling in the form to avoid any errors in the admission process.

4. Attach the necessary documents, which generally include:

• Passport size photograph
• 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates

Degree wise Admission Process

B. Pharma: Bachelor of Pharmacy is a 4-year undergraduate program provided by the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at JIS University. The number of seats is 100. Admission will presumably be based on the candidate's score in 10+2 and concerned entrance exams. Eligibility is generally 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology.

D. Pharma: 2 years course (60 seats) with 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics as subjects. Merit-based selection is most likely on the basis of merit, on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.

M. Pharma: Various specializations under M. Pharma program of the department include Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance. All these are 2-year postgraduate courses. Eligibility would normally be a B. Pharma degree from any recognized university. Admission would normally depend on the performance of the candidate in his/her B. Pharma course as well as in entrance tests.

Ph. D Pharmaceutical Technology The department offers a Ph. D program in Pharmaceutical Technology. Normally a master’s degree in the appropriate field is required for admission. Selection may be based on an entrance test and/or interview to assess the candidate’s research aptitude and subject knowledge.
