DGM Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Gadag, was started in the year 1979 and is one of the reputed institute in imparting education in Ayurveda and health care. Shivanand Nagar, Gadag, Karnataka: this college is a co-education college situated at a total area of 8 acres. CCIM approved, that provides a number of Ayurvedic courses and programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The college has enrolment capacity of 336 students and faculty of 34 teachers which are more than adequate to create enabling environment for training Ayurved physicians.

The flagship course at the college is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) which is a 6 year programme and has 60 seats. At the postgraduate level, the college offers four specialised MD programmes: The course of 3 years MD Panchakarma have 5 students while MD Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, MD Kayachikitsa and MD Dravyaguna also have similar duration with 4 and 5 student’s respectively.
