Dhenkanal Law College was established in 1981 and it is an affiliated college located at Dhenkanal of Odisha. This institution approved by the bar council of India (BCI) has been producing legal professionals for over four decades. The college is located on a 10-acre piece of land and provides an appropriate learning atmosphere for legal education. And whereas it has a total student strength of 482 and a faculty of 7 members, Dhenkanal Law College can offer a concentrated education. At the moment the college has two programs leading to the award of the Degree in Law for both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in line with a the colleges tradition of offering comprehensive legal education.

The college provides a number of amenities that are meant to improve learning environment and, therefore, students’ development. Every academic resource has to be anchored by a library where students would have access to virtually all legal literature and research materials they require. A modern approach to education is well incorporated in this college evidenced by rich Information Technology infrastructure to prepare students with the innovation aspects of legal practice. For the intending lawyers, a moot court facility provides real life experience; aoput turning, the various courts where students practice advocacy in the moot court facility. 

It also has event and seminars place including auditorium for event, discussion and cultural activities for the college students. In reference to students health, there are hockey pitch, football pitches, volleyball courts, tennis courts and basketball courts for sporting activities. Another addition is closes and the cafeteria where students can have breaks and interact during their leisure. Of particular interest, Dhenkanal Law College provides accommodation to the students – both to the male and female students – thus providing them with secure accommodation being away from homes in different cities and states.

The purpose of the various courses offered at the Dhenkanal Law College are therefore in relation to the different wants of the students who wish to pursuing a career in law. The institution provides two full-time courses: a regular 3 year Bachelor of Laws and a 2 year Master of Laws program.
