Diphu Medical College and Hospital which started in 2020 are one of the newest college situated in Diphu, Assam. This affiliated college is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) which means that it follows the medical education standards of the country. Located in the Karbi Anglong district, the college was established with the objective to impart quality education and nepal medical . As a premier medical institution the faculty strength counts sixty seven members dedicated to groom future doctors. 

Diphu Medical College and Hospital has available modern equipments in a bid to assist it achieve its educational vision. Among them, there are laboratories for different departments, which give students practical experience working in the lab. The central library is a treasure trove with close to 3000 books and having 132 current journal subscriptions Indian and international. The reading rooms can accommodate up to 100 students and in addition there are special places for employees and resident doctors. When it comes to hostels, the college has hostels for both male and female students and accommodates a total of 204 students in the two hostels: each having 102 single sex rooms. It should also be noted that there is also a health center on the territory of the campus for the first aid of students.

Diphu Medical College and Hospital currently offers one primary course: the MBBS programme Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. This is a full course that takes six years and prepares the candidate as a competent medical doctor. According to the collegiate’s permits, its MBBS programme is allowed to admit one hundred students, however, the college strives to provide a favourable student instructor ratio that fosters learning amongst students. Although the institution is yet at its early stage, it aspires to develop new programmes in the academia as well as make a enormous contribution to the medical training in the region. 

The admission process of Diphu Medical College and Hospital are mainly relied on the NEET-UG which is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. For the MBBS programme, it has become mandatory for the aspirants to clear this nationwide common entrance test. The admission process is developed and conducted on the Centralised Basis affiliated to the state government norms and the National Medical Commission.
