Diphu Polytechnic, as an affiliated college was established in 2008, situated in Karbi Anglong, Assam. This government owned institution located in a large area of about 21.5 acres intends to impart technical education to its students. Recognised by AICTE, Diphu Polytechnic provides core study in civil engineering field. It takes an overall student enrollments of 137 at the same time possessing a faculty of only 1 which helps to provide individual care and focus to each student.

From the polytechnic’s focus on technical education, it has specialized in one area of training and preparation for civil engineering as a course which is needed in large quantities in the society. The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls to accommodate those coming from distant places in a respective way. Keeping up with the trend, our college has a well stocked central library and well equipped departmental laboratories. The polytechnic also avails an event and seminar occasion hall thereby enhancing the lively academic environment. Any student and member of the institution will be able to enjoy the different sporting activities if they visit the various facilities within the institution such as sports fields and gym. A cafeteria is responsible for food needs of the campus, while a health center with an infirmary provide for the needs of first aid of the students.

Diphu Polytechnic currently offers one full-time course: Diploma in Civil Engineering. This is a three year education program and the approved admission capacity /intake is 60 students per year which best support the institutes policy of offering quality education through_way of proper class size. The course aims at creating awareness of the principles and practice of civil engineering so as prepare the students for careers in the construction and infrastructure development industries.

Diphu Polytechnic follows merit based admission procedure and its systematic process is quite well defined. Any person interested in the Diploma Course must sit and pass the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT). This entrance examination is also conducted by the Government of Assam through the directive of State Council for Technical Education-Assam, DTE, Assam. The PAT makes sure that only the deserving candidates get the admission to their institute which maintain the standards of the institute.
