DIPS College of Education Dhilwan, was started in the year 2008 and is one of the most recognised teacher training college in the Punjab State of India. Located on a limited land area of 3 acres, this college for both male and female is built to empower the future educators. DIPS College of Education being an affiliated college is regulated under the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) that governs the requirements and standards must be met for aspiring colleges of teacher education. The institute currently offers only one programme, the Bachelors of Education (B.ED) with a total enrolment capacity of 84 students while the faculty numbers 16 thus affording students an excellent student-faculty ratio to ensure one on one contact hours.

The college has many amenities that are aimed at supporting education and personal growth of the student population. Requested that an efficient books library also known as information center deemed essential for academic purposes with adequate resource. The campus provides the appropriate learning facilities; for instance, there are spacious and well equipped modern laboratories which are important in enabling practical and real life teacher training. As for physical fitness and recreational facilities students have access to a gym and sports.

DIPS College of Education at Dhilwan provides only B. Ed program which is a two year full time program. This kind of specialization enables the institute provide quality teacher education since it has the required resources and focus. Unfortunately, the B.Ed program has an approved intake of 100 students capacity which has immense capacity to offer a greater number of aspiring teachers. Thus, for instance, the college grants only one degree at the present moment, but owing to this it supplies students with hundred-percent preparation in such spheres as pedagogy, educational psychology, and approaches to teaching.

The process of admission at DIPS College of Education is simple and clear and is based only on merit. Students are admitted based on performance in the qualifying exam normally the bachelors’ degree. In some cases, admission may also consider scores obtained in entrance examination or any other test as prescribed by the rules framed by the state Government, Union Territory administration or any other University to which the Institution is affiliated to.. This way, only deserving candidates have a shot at getting a place in the program to study for the B.Ed. The college follows the admission dates provided by the regulatory bodies although the dates may differ from year to year.
