District Institute of Education and Training, Jharsuguda: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Jharsuguda originated in 1972 is an established institute of education situated in Panchpara, Jharsuguda district, Odisha. This affiliated college was approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offers only teacher education programmes. DIET Jharsuguda is located at a spacious land area of 5.37 acres where student of DIET can foster their education in a favourable atmosphere. At the moment, there are 183 students enroled at the institute and 8 experienced and professional teachers that creates a small student to teacher ratio allowing for effective one on one training.

Among many recreational amenities DIET Jharsuguda has a set of facilities that contributes to student’s educational process. The institute avails a standard library stocked with most essential data. In response to these emerging trends, the college has developed a great IT base so that students can incorporate it in their college requirements. It also has departmental laboratories within the campus where students can have practical education experiences. For those who have an interest in body fitness, the institute is equipped with sporting activities, and a gym.

Regarding the course and programs DIET Jharsuguda has remained quite focused in offering quality teacher education. At present it is running only one full time course i.e., Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.). The teaching program is two years, and the institute has been approved to accept 5o students for the program.

While admitting the students to its institution, DIET Jharsuguda considers the marks scored by a student in the qualifying examination as well as in the entrance examination. It also also follows any other admission procedures as may be prescribed by the Odisha State Government and the affiliated university. It makes it possible for deserving people who wish to be teachers to get a chance and follow this same dream especially after getting an education from this institution.
