DMI College of Education was started in the year 2007 at Mevalurkuppam, Kancheepuram district of tamil nadu is one of the leading college imparting education for teachers. This co-educational institute which is part of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University has its approval from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Located in a 5.15 hectare lot, DMI College of Education aims to provide a suitable environment for student teachers. The college actual admission figure for students is 116 and with a faculty of 15 people, the college has a very good student-teacher ratio which means the students get individual attention and proper education.

The college has modern facilities that facilitate it’s academic activities. A fully computerised library that occupies more than 295 sq meters boasts of more than 5000 books on different disciplines as well as the national and international journals. On this aspect, the institution remains abreast with technological development in that it contains two computer laboratories with over thirty latest computers which are interconnected with internet facilities. 

DMI College of Education provides only one program of study at the moment, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree program. This is a full-time COE course, takes two years and has an approved autonomy for the enrolment of 100 seats and which shows the institute’s commitment towards training quality teachers.
