Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Medical Science unit was established in the year 2013, located at Jagada, Sundargarh, Odisha and comes under a separate university itself. This institute is only for female and is committed to medical and nursing courses, which are recognised by INC: Indian Nursing Council. Set on a mere plot area of 4,800sq ft, the institute sanctions three full time courses under two degree programme. This institute has 80 enrolment with students and a 9 strong faculty which ensures that the class is small and compact.

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Medical Science has some of the following facilities which help accommodate the activities of the students and enhance their academic lives. A library facility intended for students is capable of stocking relevant information that users need, and departmental laboratories are basic components of a medical school. For physical development apart from mental the campus has sporting activities and gym facilities. There is an auditorium for social functions and seminars and all sorts of activities add the life of the campus. Student care is well taken through a medical center that addresses health related issues including first aid. They are engaged in offering a limited range of three full-time courses from the field of medical and nursing science. The B.Sc Nursing course with a strength of forty students is designed to give sound training in nursing spread over four years. The two-year ANM course admitting 40 students trains auxiliary nurse midwives for the community health service. It also has two years diploma course is DMLT for he students to train in medical laboratory technology.
