Dr. BMN College of Home Science, Mumbai, which got instituted in the year 1984, offers a premier autonomous college devoted to quality formation in Home Science and its allied disciplines. It is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college stands today on a campus of 1.14 acres in Matunga, Mumbai. In total, 816 students are enroled at the college and the faculty strength is 43. Across 5 degree programs, the college offers 14 courses. 

The college is facilitated in different sections to give the finest support for learning and development. Spread over 4000 square feet on the 8th floor of the Smt. Kamalaben Gambhirchand Shah Vidya Bhavan, it can accommodate 100 students and 20 staff members. Thus, it is well-furnished, replete with literature to support all academic and research needs. The college, therefore, provides sports facilities to ensure a well-rounded development of the students. The institution is well equipped with IT infrastructure to keep pace with technological advancements.

Dr. BMN College of Home Science is an institution offering many diverse academic courses, the number stands at 9 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate courses apart from 2 diploma courses. The courses are, for the most part, courses in which full-time attendance is essential since students will receive industry-based and hands-on training. The four main programs that have been referred to as the flagship programs are B.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics, B.Sc. in Home Science, Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), and M.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. The other specialised courses include- B.Sc. Human Development, B.Sc. in Resource Management, and B.Sc. in Textile Science and Apparel Design.
