With the strategic location as its enhancer, Dr. B. N. Purandare Arts and Smt. S.G. Gupta Commerce and Science College, Lonavala, was established in the year 1983, as a light house of higher education in the very pictorial town of Lonavala, Maharashtra. The affiliated college thus commands a total area of 7 acres in offering UG and PG programmes diverse across the board. With a total student enrolment of 885, the faculty strength is 23, making the student-to-teacher ratio quite agreeable. The NAAC has accredited this college with a good grade, reflecting its commitments on the promotion of quality education. At the undergraduate level, the institution offers 5-degree programs in arts, commerce, and science streams, which help to attract a wide spectrum of academic interest. 

There are several facilities designed to enrich the overall learning experience on campus within the institution.
