Dr. D.Y. Patil Science and Computer Science College now has branches at Nigdi Pradhikaran Akurdi, Pune was established in the year 2000. This affiliated college has been providing specific course in computer science at bachelors and masters degree level. The total number of students enroled in the college is 357 with teaching faculty of 14 members which help in maintaining a customised learning atmosphere. The institute offers two main degree programmes: UG Programmes such as the B.Sc Computer Science and PG Programme such as the M.Sc Computer Science that takes in hardworking students with a love for the growing world of computer science. 

Dr. D.Y. Patil Science and Computer Science College offers a list of facilities developed to facilitate student learning process. Good library facilities form the information resource centre of the institution with large stock of books to support its educational stock in the areas of philosophy human rights management and literature among others. The concern to the technological facility of the college is underlined in the college’s computer laboratories with recently installed Pantium computers. For overall personality development of the students the institution has sports amenities and extramural activities in indoor and outdoor games including football, volleyball, etc. An auditorium is also used for events and seminars as they are essential to the development of lively students’ lifestyle on campus. 

Dr. D.Y. Patil Science and Computer Science College has a total of two courses including full time computer science course. Programme B.Sc. Computer Science takes place in three years, and M.Sc. Computer Science takes two years to complete. There is no fundamental difference between the two courses because both are aimed at giving the students a good grounding in Computer Science theory as well as essential practical experience. The total admission capacity of the college is 357, which has ensured that the college intake values the provision of a quality student faculty ratio to afford adequate attention to students. 

Dr. D.Y. Patil Science and Computer Science College operates only on merit basis with preference on candidates who have interest in computer science course. In case of admissions to the B.Sc. Computer Science, the admission is given as per the Merit and Availability of seats. The M.Sc Computer Science programme admission policy hereby follows the selection procedures and policies of the college in accordance to the norms stated by the University of Pune. For a record, the college follows the laid down government policies on reservations and relaxation for the admission of the eligible students. The college has an important task of creating positive learning atmosphere. It has an active alumni association, where old and current students interact hence creating a market that is important for both the current students and old students.
