Dr GS Melkote Rural Polytechnic, Koppal: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Dr. G.S. Melkote Rural Polytechnic, the affiliated college was established in year 1984 and is situated at Koppal, Karnataka. Located in an expansive 12 acre compound, the AICTE affiliated institute offers three diploma courses in engineering streams. The polytechnic’s total student enrolment is 186 and the faculty is comprised of 14 educators which make for a smart ratio. It is affiliated and committed to technical education offering only full time diploma in Civil Engineering, Electronics and communication engineering and Mechanical engineering. The polytechnic is one of the major institutions from the viewpoint of the polytechnic’s focus on rural technical education.

For accommodation, the campus owns the separate hostels for boys and girls, which offer comfortable staying for the students who arrived from distant areas. The courses offered are three full time diplomas courses and each of them take three years duration in Dr. G.S. Melkote Rural Polytechnic. Approved enrolment capacity of the institute for all programs is 160 students. For the Diploma in Civil Engineering and the Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, the college provides 60 seats for each programme and for the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme they provide 40 seats.

The institution is admitting students under the process based on merit list submitted to the Government of Karnataka. 50% seats are come under different category and rest of the seats are filled by the marks secured in the SSLC examination for technical subjects.
