History Dr. J.J. Magdum Pharmacy College was established in the year – 1993, and since then, has gained wide recognition concerning imparting quality pharmaceutical education. The college located on the campus of 0.75 acres in Jaysingpur, Shirol District of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, is an affiliated college by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. With a total enrolment of 108 students, along with a faculty strength of 38, individual attention and quality education are guaranteed.
The College provides its students with a host of facilities. A well-stocked library at the central portion of the facilities is another major feature with a large collection of books covering subjects concerning pharmacy with the latest additions of national and international publications available. Provision for library services is also set with plenty of periodicals to pharmaceutical journals and magasines, followed by another collection of educational CDS. The college is additionally provided with department based laboratories, forming an integral part of practical knowledge for the discipline of pharmacy. The computer information center is also equipped with the newer computers and the latest internet facilities in order to facilitate the students to access the important medicine-related sites and the digital facilities. The college offers sports facilities that aim at the provision to all the students for their well-being.
There are two viable courses in the pharmacy education of the Dr. J.J. Magdum Pharmacy College, one at the undergraduate level, namely B.Pharma, and another one at the diploma level, namely D.Pharma, both full-time, meeting the needs at different levels of pharmaceutical education. The intake capacity for the B.Pharma program is 100 seats, and for the D.Pharma course, there are 60 seats. The course structure in this regard is designed to provide students with a sound background for pharmaceutical sciences and equip them with sufficient knowledge and skills to make a career out of it.

Admission processes for different programs are quite different at Dr. J. J. Magdum Pharmacy College. Admission to the first year of B. Pharma shall be done on the basic principles of non-zero score in CET or NEET conducted by the competent authority. The test ensures that the student who joins the said course has basic competencies in subjects prescribed for the course.
