Dr. K.N. Modi Engineering College (KNMEC), Modinagar, is a centrally recognized AICTE-approved college providing diploma courses in engineering disciplines. The college has a two-step admission process, offering chances to students through counselling as well as direct admissions. KNMEC's admissions process is established to choose worthy candidates for its four diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Production Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The major admission process is through the counselling done by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education, Lucknow. This system provides a merit-based and uniform selection of students based on their performance in the state-level entrance test. Besides this, KNMEC also provides institutional-level direct admissions as an alternative to the students.

For direct entry to diploma courses, the minimum eligibility requirement is a pass of at least 35% marks in the 10th standard exam. This helps to ensure that applicants possess an initial level of understanding in main subjects before taking up their selected engineering course.

Application Process

The application process of Dr. K.N. Modi Engineering College, Modinagar, differs as per whether the candidate is making an application based on counselling or direct admission:

For Counselling-based Admission:

2. Take the state-level entrance examination (if required).

Degree wise Admission Process

Diploma Programs: 

There are four three-year full-time diploma programs available through KNMEC:

1. Diploma in Civil Engineering: The course is offered with 30 seats. The admission is through counselling procedure or direct admission, but a minimum of 35% marks in 10th standard is required.

2. Diploma in Mechanical Production Engineering: This course is offered with 60 seats. The same admission procedure as Civil Engineering is followed for 60 seats, and direct admissions are accepted with a minimum of 35% in 10th standard.

3. Diploma in Computer Science Engineering: The course also has 60 seats and the same process of admission through counselling or direct admission by meeting the 35% marks in 10th standard.

4. Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Another 60-seat course, it also has the same admission requirements and procedure as the rest of the diploma courses.

All of these diploma courses aim to equip the students with both theoretical as well as practical exposure in their particular fields. Total sanctioned intake at all the diploma courses at KNMEC is 210 seats.
