The college is affiliated with the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna State University, Sitapur, and it is governed by the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Government Degree College, Bhadohi. It came into existence in the year 1999. It is a government-owned university that has physical classes and offers several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various fields. Holding a total student intake of 1150 and a faculty strength of 17, the college is shuttling a number of streams of students. Being aware of the role of females in present-day society, the institution has numerous female students, with 69% of all undergraduates being female.
