Co-curricular educational institution-Dr SRJ College of Education was established in the year 2006 at Thanjavur- Tamil Nadu India is sheltering the brightening light of educational system. Located in one of South India’s most storied cities of Thanjavur, this co-educational institution serves to build future educators. The college, which is spread over an area of 1.001 acres, is an affiliated college recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The total no. of students in Dr. SRJ college of education is 197 students along with 16 faculty members, this college provides small scale environment to converge personal and professional changes.

Among such facilities one can mention the following facilities that are available in the learning space of Dr SRJ College of Education. A massive library occupies a central place on the territory of the campus and becomes a true source of knowledge for future educators. The college boasts of having well equipped laboratories that include Physical Science Lab, Biological Science Lab, Computer Technology Lab, Psychology Lab and, Language Labs. These facilities offer opportunities for teacher-candidates to gain practical skills something that is dear to preparing teachers. 

At present, Dr. SRJ College of Education has only one mainstream course – the Bachelor of Education course. This is a two year full time course that has an approved capacity of one hundred students, this is to ensure that the college upholds the quest for offering quality education with limited number of students per class. With the aim of producing professional teacher; The BEd programme prepares the students to acquire the requisite academic knowledge, technical skills and teaching practice to succeed in the teaching profession. 

The admission to Dr. SRJ College of Education is given based on merit score in the qualifying exam as well as entrance test. The college implements policies laid down by the state government of West Bengal, Union/Territory administration, and the University to which it is affiliated.
