Established in 1970 Dr. Zakir Husain College, Ilayangudi is one of the famous college located in Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college, accredited with NAAC, is a full-fledged college with 43 acres of campus in and around Chennai. The college has 2464 students and 63 members of faculty; there are 21 courses in the college classroom in 8 programmes of degrees and diplomas.

Dr. Zakir Husain College believes in delivering quality education in the college along with a sporting, modern infrastructure. Today, it has a peculiar 400-meter 7-lane track for athletic meetings, basketball and ball badminton courts, table tennis, boys and girls’ volleyball grounds. There is a gym well equipped to meet the students need for body exercising. Science classes and practicals Requires are facilitated in equipped modern laboratories, while language English course has its own language lab and there are computer labs which are well equipped with the updated software and internet facilities.
