Duraimurugan College of Education in Vellore was started in the year 2007 as a teacher training college placed in Tamil Nadu of India. Located on a piece of land measuring 10.26 acres, this co –educational institute nurtures the future of educators. Affiliated with a university, it has to follow strict of academic standard because it is part of a larger institution. The college has been recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) affirming its adherence to producing quality teachers. Duraimurugan College of Education has 71 students and teaches 16 members of faculty so it is a rather small college providing individual approach and favourable student-teacher ratio.

Duraimurugan College of Education has many facilities that can assist in improving the college learning as well as the students’ development. A reference section that meets the required specification is an efficient source of knowledge for the students. A student is able to enjoy modern laboratories that make it easier to conduct practicals and or experiments. Duraimurugan College of Education offers one primary course, the Bachelor of Education programme as the main programmes offered by the university. This is a two-year course offered as a full course to prepare students for a profession in teaching with the knowledge they require. 

Duraimurugan College Of Education follows certain guidelines for admission. The college admits students on the basis of merit as a policy made by the State Government/Union Territory Administration and the University to which the college is affiliated to. Depending on the standard set for their course of study, prospective students are assessed on their performance in the qualifying examination, which may be their university examination results.
