EGS Pillay Arts and Science College was started in the year of 1996 and the college is located at Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. They are spread over 6.87 acres of area and presently teach 36 programmes under 11 degree courses. As it has a total of 5,217 students and 9 faculty a major emphasis is put on the quality of education. EGS Pillay college is NAAC accredited and the courses are AICTE approved hence quality education is offered to the clienteles. College has equally distributed gender where female students constituted 55% in undergraduate programmes while 63% in post graduate programmes.

The EGS Pillay Arts and Science College endeavours to make many of sophisticated facilities available to help students in the course they are taking. The library is computerised and connected to the internet in order to ease the search of books and journals. The Computer Centre consists of 190 brand new computers placed into three computer labs with a highly professional IBM ‘Blade Server’. For physical fitness the college provides a good gym facility.

The EGS Pillay Arts and Science College basically provides all types of academic courses in many fields. The institution offers 23 undergraduate programmes among them are B.Com, BBA, B.Sc in Computer Science and B.Sc Biochemistry among others. At postgraduate level, the college offers 13 courses including M.Sc in Computer Science, MBA, and M.Com. It also supports research through its Ph.D. programmes in Commerce, Management, and Biochemistry in the college.
